STAR-STUDDED BURLESQUE AND SIDESHOW INAUGURAL BALL
Washington, DC — The Warehouse presents OBAMA WONDERAMA – an Inauguration celebration of star-studded burlesque and Coney Island-style sideshow on Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at The Warehouse Arts Complex to celebrate the victory and historic inauguration of Barack Obama.
OBAMA WONDERAMA welcomes guests from near and far with an evening of classic and modern day burlesque, sideshow, illusion, DJ sets, and drink specials. OBAMA WONDERAMA features extraordinary entertainers including: Dr. Lucky (burlesque’s “Lucille Ball” and only PhD), Clams Casino (Miss Exotic World 2008 Most Humorous and Most Innovative), Swami Yomahmi (host of the Cheeky Monkey Sideshow) along with L’il Dutch (producer of Dutch Oven Burlesque). This VIP line-up of variety, featuring 15 performers, also includes hypnotic belly dancing, and master hula hooping with raffle prizes from District restaurants, artists and bars.
Doors open at 8 p.m. and performances begin at 9 p.m. Guests may enjoy the Warehouse bar and DJ sets between entertainment. With the shortening of the days it is easy to find yourself a little less motivated to go outside and a little more motivated to work on personal projects. I have taken these feelings to heart and decided to take a break from performance for the rest of 2008. I have projects that deserve some time and attention right now and I'll use this time to relax and rejuvinate in anticipation of a great 2009! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and an even better New Year! |

Like Oh My GAWD!! It's totally a burlesque rewind at The Dutch Oven! Like, seriously … I love the 80s. That freakazoid Gary Gutter (gag me with a spoon and bag your face) is hosting a show of bitchin' burlesque babes like L'il Dutch, Poppy La Rouge, Sugar Ann Spice, Miss Joule, and out-of-town guests Little Luna from Baltimore's Gilded Lily Burlesque and all the way from NYC, the glamorous and majorly hot Dulce De Leche. There's also going to be like this totally radical 80s DJ, P-Vo, not to mention bow-head stage kitten Lauren Marleaux - and of course games where you can win stuff (I mean, DUH!). And, if you come in 80s gear you get to compete in a costume walk-off for a prize...decent!
